Founded by voice coach and broadcaster Maura Currie ALCM (London College of Music – Speech and Drama), Speech and Drama Scotland draws on 20 years of broadcasting experience (presenting, news reading, voice over and narration work) and works from the London College of Music Speech and Drama syllabus. Driven by a passion for developing confident young voices through a structured, progressive fun programme Maura founded Speech & Drama Scotland .
An associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in Speech and Drama, over many years Maura has studied the following:

Vowel formation
Classification of consonants
Intercostal diaphragmatic breathing
Vocal Expression
Dramatic Movement
Posture

Academic written study for the London College of Music on ‘The Physicality of the voice in Radio Drama’.

Currently?
A broadcaster , Maura provides narration and voice over performances on a daily basis for television and radio.

Maura is also an Associate Lecturer in Broadcast Voice at the University of the West of Scotland. On her days with the undergraduate journalism students she works through news broadcast styles and methods of achieving emphasis.
